Patented Twin Flywheel Technology

Chipping and throwing are the two core functions of any wood chipper. By using two flywheels, we’ve optimised the speed and performance of each task independently.

The primary chipping flywheel spins at 540 RPM, delivering high torque where it matters most. This provides powerful, consistent chipping performance and allows the machine to process larger material using less PTO horsepower.

The secondary flywheel operates at twice the speed (1080 rpm), propelling chips out faster and farther. This high-speed flywheel dramatically increases airflow through the system, helping move lightweight, wet, leafy, and coniferous material smoothly through the chip stream. The result is reduced build-up, fewer blockages, and more efficient operation, even in challenging conditions.

Capacity

The PTO Wood Chipper TFG55 is designed for tractors with 12 to 30 HP at the PTO. It features a large 69 cm x 43 cm (27” x 17”) infeed opening, reinforced with a solid 2 cm (3/4”) thick steel bar around the edge to provide a smooth, safe entry for branches. The material then feeds down to the 13 cm x 13 cm (5” x 5”) infeed opening. The PTO Wood Chipper TFG55 can handle branches and material ranging from just 6 mm (1/4”) up to 13 cm (5”) in diameter, delivering reliable performance for Aussie farms, small properties, and acreage work.

Side-Hinged Infeed Chute

The PTO Wood Chipper TFG55 features a side-hinged infeed chute secured with a single latch and safety catch. The latch easily releases to swing the chute wide open, allowing quick access to inspect the blades, adjust the bed plate, and carry out maintenance with ease.

Easy-Access Clamshell Design

The PTO Wood Chipper TFG55 features a practical clamshell design secured by a single latch with a safety catch. When opened, the clamshell rests securely on the tyre, giving full access to the flywheel and chipping blades for fast and easy maintenance.

Rotatable Discharge Chute

The PTO Wood Chipper TFG55 features a discharge chute that rotates 360° in 90-degree increments, letting you direct wood chips exactly where you need them—left, right, forward, or backward. An adjustable chip deflector at the end of the chute allows you to place chips close to the machine or farther away, giving you complete control over your chipping operation.

Reversible Chipper Blades

The PTO Wood Chipper TFG55 uses three high-quality hardened steel reversible chipper blades, giving two cutting edges per blade for extended life. The blades are secured to the flywheel with three countersunk M8 bolts. Working with an adjustable stationary bed plate at the base of the infeed chute, the blades create a precise shearing action, allowing you to set the optimal gap for efficient and consistent chipping.

Flywheel Locking Pin

The PTO Wood Chipper TFG55 features a flywheel locking pin for safe and convenient blade changes or flywheel maintenance. The pin fits into a series of holes, allowing each blade to be easily accessed for changing or reversing.

Belt Drive System

The PTO Wood Chipper TFG55 features two flywheel speeds thanks to a combination of cast iron pulleys and drive belts running from the main drive shaft. Sealed-bearing idler wheels and spring-loaded tensioners keep the belts at the optimal pressure for maximum service life. This system allows precise control of chipping and throwing speeds, making the most of your tractor’s horsepower and torque.

Debris Control

Clear curtains are fitted to the caution bar inside the infeed chute to help control dust and debris, keeping material moving safely and efficiently down the chute.

PTO Shaft

Included with the TFG55PTO chipper is a PTO shaft complete with a shear pin.
