Capacity

The WC68 wood chipper, exclusively designed by Woodland Mills, is engineered to handle hardwood and forest debris like that found in Australia. This economical yet powerful chipper boasts a massive 6” (15cm) chipping capacity (depending on tractor hp) and utilizes an auto hydraulic feed system. Its 23” x 27” (58cm x 69cm) infeed hopper opening tapers down to a 6” x 8” (15 cm x 20 cm) opening and features an 8.25” (21cm) diameter hydraulically driven infeed roller to efficiently process timber ranging from ¼” (6mm) to 6” (15cm) in diameter. However, tractors with over 40 HP at the PTO are recommended to chip full 6” (15cm) diameter logs. The WC68 is built to be the best value in its class and a serious piece of equipment for any property owner.

Hydraulic Infeed System

The WC68 wood chipper infeed roller measures a substantial 8.25 inches (21cm) in diameter and is powered by the chipper’s self-contained hydraulic system. The roller’s direction and speed can be adjusted, making it simple to feed branches of varying shapes and sizes. The hydraulic pump is driven by a belt connected to the main flywheel shaft. The two large springs on the roller can be adjusted to provide the necessary down pressure which allows it to grip branches and pull them in, eliminating the need for manual feeding.

Flywheel

The 24” (61cm) diameter solid steel flywheel of the WC68 is dynamically balanced, 3/4” (2cm) thick, and runs on a 2” (5cm) diameter shaft. It is supported by 2 industrial and greaseable flanged bearings for durability. The flywheel has four CNC machined pockets designed to hold the reversible blades securely. In addition, it has four large fan blade paddles that rotate at over 540rpm, making it a powerful and efficient wood chipping machine.

Chipper Blades

The WC68 chipper comes equipped with four robust hardened steel reversible chipper blades that are spaced 90 degrees apart. These blades can be flipped to make use of both edges, extending their lifespan. The blades are secured to the flywheel using four countersunk M10 bolts and locking nuts. Thanks to the clamshell flywheel housing design, blade replacement can be completed swiftly. By undoing just one bolt, the upper flywheel housing opens fully, allowing easy access to the blades and flywheel.

Folding Infeed Chute

The WC68 wood chipper features a spacious infeed chute witha 23” x 27” (58cm x 69cm) opening, allowing for easy and efficient feeding of

branches with multiple limbs. Additionally, the infeed chute can be folded up

to reduce the chipper’s footprint for storage or transport purposes.

Infeed Opening

The WC68 wood chipper features a generous 6″ x 8″ (15cm x 20cm) square opening in the flywheel housing, making it effortless to feed branches with multiple limbs. This design reduces the need to trim branches before chipping, saving you time and effort.

Discharge Chute

The WC68 wood chipper features a discharge chute that can rotate a full 360 degrees with two handles, providing the user with complete control over the direction of the wood chips. With the chute standing at 66” (1.7m) above the ground, it’s easy to direct the wood chips into a truck or trailer if needed. The end of the chute also includes a rotating deflector, which allows for further control of the wood chip’s destination. Whether directing the chips far away or straight down, the user can easily adjust the angle to fit their needs.
